Rome - Keeping a good physical shape, reducing weight, is never easy, especially over 40 years. At this age, some foods with useful properties may help: the magnificent seven, ready to fight sickness and overweight.


Salmon is the 'leader'. This fish is a concentrate of vitamin D and calcium, which is especially useful to women, according to researches, conducted on 36,000 volunteers, which demonstrate the ability to control weight during menopause. His "assistant" is the red hot pepper. The use of the spicy seasoning, according to an Australian research based on 36 subjects of both sexes, would reduce the level of insulin, which is linked to the accumulation of fat, 32%.


Third on the list are nuts. High in omega 3 and magnesium, nuts are cornerstones of any weight loss program. Australian researchers say eating 8-10 a day, they help in enhancing a balanced diet, promoting the loss of weight and fat in excess.


Fourth, a simple water and lemon drink. A study from California, testing 240 women, says that you can reduce your weight by replacing the sweet and fizzy drinks with this simple mix. The effects are more visible if you drink more than four cups a day. Particularly important is the presence of lemon, which helps acidity control of the blood. Fifth are linseeds. Their strength lies in the fibers and "good" fats, which can stabilize the amount of sugar. Moreover, according to some studies in this sector, they are able to limit the hormonal surges because rich in oestrogens.


Then follow muesli bars.
Maybe they are not the greedy' s food top ten, but, according to some nutritionists, being high in fibers, they help to consume twice as much fat.  And finally the cinnamon. Experts advise to use it as a condiment in place of sugar for its ability to burn fat in a year, without requiring special efforts.
