The Virginia Wine Festival is the foundation stone of the wine festival season, and moreover of the Virginia Wine Industry itself.
Begun in 1975 by an industrious group of grape-growing individuals calling themselves the Vinifera Wine Growers Association, now known as the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association, this 35th annual wine festival began as a way to introduce and educate the populace about the merits of Virginia wine. Featuring over 400 varieties of wine, paired with gourmet food offerings, a juried arts show, and unbeatable musical entertainment.
